By: JAMES ANTONY

Texas Hold’em poker is by far the best game for a beginner to learn as it is easily available around the world. The game is widely acclaimed as these games of poker provide the player with a chance to think and use strategies to beat their opponents. Poker is played in thousands of casinos, card rooms, online sites, and households across the World.

The first thing that beginners should know when learning to play Texas Hold’em Poker is what a poker hand is. There are different types of poker hands. As there are no wild cards, the highest possible hand is a Royal Flush, which is five cards of the same suit in sequential order consisting of the Ace, King, Queen, Jack and 10 cards and is said to be the highest-ranking standard poker hand. Below the Royal Flush is a Straight Flush, then a 5-high straight flush, Four of a Kind; Full House; Flush; Straight; Three of a Kind; Two Pair, One Pair, and High Card or no-pair ranks below all other poker hands. Make sure you know the language of betting like Fold, Call – matching the bet that is in front of you, Check – pass the action to the next player without betting, Bet and Raise.

The betting structure of Texas Hold’em Poker games consists of a Limit Texas Hold'em Poker game; A Pot Limit Texas Hold'em Poker game; A No Limit Texas Hold'em Poker. Next the dealer shuffles a standard 52-card deck and the two players to the left of the dealer start the deal by posting blind by putting a preset amount of money into the pot before any cards are dealt. Each player is then dealt two "hole cards” with their face down followed with a round of betting beginning with the player to the left of the two who posted the blinds. Then follows burning the card in which the dealer discards the top card of the deck to prevent cheating. The dealer then flips the next three cards face up on the table and these cards are called the "flop" followed by another round of betting during which the players can check, call, raise, or fold when it is their turn to bet. The dealer burns one card which is called the "turn" or "Fourth Street followed by third round of betting and then final burning of card before placing the final face-up card on the table and this card is called "river" or "Fifth Street". Players can now use any combination of seven cards to form the best possible five-card Poker hand and after the final betting round reveals their hands. The player with the best hand is the winner.
