Seven Card Stud Eight or Better is the E in "h.o.r.s.e", this game is really starting to gain popularity since becoming part of few mix games, the game itself is very challenging, a lot of players seem to have difficulty to master this game strategy, if you'll master this game, we'll have big advantage over other players on horse tournaments. Today you can find more and more poker room that support this game, so try to practice as much as you can.

How to Play:

Stud 8/b is very similar to the regular seven card stud, but in seven card stud the best qualify low hand wins half of the pot as well. If you are still not familiar with the low games, you must be asking yourself "What??? The lowest hand wins??", yes! The lowest hand takes half of the pot. In order to qualify for low hand you need to have 5 cards lower or equal to 8 , and unpaired for example : Ace, 2, 4, 6, 7 = qualifies , Ace, 2, 4, 4, 7 = doesn't qualify! If no one has low qualify hand, the player with the highest hand "scoop" the pot, which means take it all.

At the WSOP 2007, event #24: Eli Elezra won the stud 8/b event and took home $651,360 .he beats a field of 236 players. The buy-in amount was $3,000 per player, this is Eli's first WSOP gold bracelet .the runner-up of that tournament was Scotty Nguyen, Scotty is one of the best poker players of all times.
